Services and Policies

The park office is open daily between May 1 and October 15. Generally, the park office is open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Firewood, ice, newspapers, clothing, gifts and RV supplies are available at the park office.

Campground Standards

Check-in and check-out is at 1 p.m. Please check-out at the office before leaving. Register for additional nights by 1 p.m.
All rents must be paid in advance. Weekly and monthly rates available at initial registration only. Sorry, no retroactive rates.
Permission from the office is required prior to moving to a new site.
One camping unit and tent per site. Six people or one family per site please.
Fish cleaning facilities are located near the marina.
Quiet Time is 10 p.m. until 8 a.m. Please be considerate of your neighbors. If you are asked to leave, we are unable to provide a refund.
No site alterations.
Sewer rings are required to hook up to our sewer system. Rings are sold at the office.
We are not liable for loss, theft, injury or damage to people or property.
Non-reservable sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. In fairness to all, no saving or holding sites is allowed.

Clotheslines and Tent Ropes

Help us eliminate hazards and provide you an unobstructed view. To dry swimsuits, a small line under an awning is acceptable. Otherwise, please use the clotheslines provided near the 3rd bath house.

Dogs and Other Pets

All pets must be accompanied by a person. Leashes need to be 6-feet or less. Please clean up after your pet. Free pooper scoopers are located throughout the park and along the lake shore. Failure to pick up after your pet, can result in water contamination and beach closings. Walk your dog outside of sites and keep your pets quiet. We know you love your pets and would never leave them unattended.

Geese

Canada Geese are frequent visitors, but tend to overstay their welcome, leaving messy droppings behind. Grand Marais has a city ordinance prohibiting feeding the geese. If they've made a mess at your site, we have shovels and rakes available for clean-up.

Firewood

Fires are only allowed in the available fireboxes. Firewood is for sale at the office for $5/bag. We love our trees. Please no cutting, chopping or bark peeling of any trees or branches, regardless of whether the tree is dead or alive.

Mail and Email

Postal mail is distributed into mailboxes in the office by 1 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Outgoing mail leaves at 11:30 a.m. Drop off and pick up mail at the office.

The office has two internet hookup available for your laptop. Please bring your own toll-free or local dial-up number. WIFI is available for a fee.

Enjoy our starlit nights. Lights out at 10 p.m. except for one security light.

Recycling

Please join our efforts to recycle. You will find recycling bins at the park office and at bathhouses 1, 3 and 4. We recycle glass, aluminum, plastic and newspaper.

Book and magazine recycling is also available at the park office. Borrow from our collection during your stay, or keep the book and simply replace it with another book.
